Design :

Nexus 7 (2012)

The front has very minimal design quality, but the rubber like backplate makes the device holding experience pretty decent. Nexus 7 (2012) is not as light weighted as the other two tablets.

Nexusu 7 (2013)

Even though there is minimal difference between both the 2012 & 2013 edition, The Nexus 7 (2013) comparatively is lighter and thinner from it’s predecessor.

iPad Mini

As per Apple standards, the design is unique and is constructed far better than the others. It is lightweight and pencil thin at 7.2 mm.

Performance :

Nexus 7 (2012)

It comes with a quad-core processor and decent bit of RAM which deals with almost anything which is put to task. The downturn is the single average speaker.

Nexus 7 (2013)

It comes with an impressive Snapdragon S4 processor which helps it perform far better than the other two tablets. It also comes along with a 2GB RAM.

iPad Mini

It comes with a dual-core processor which is pretty reasonable, but the 512 MB RAM makes it struggles in performance when it comes to some of the advanced apps.

It comes with Android 4.1 on root, but can be upgraded to Android 4.3.

It comes with Android 4.3 on root which is the latest OS. Comes with a range of Google apps and enabled wireless charging.
